Fees and Rebates
Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy are services that often take a number of sessions before your family feels a significant improvement.
At Hi Thrive, we want to make sure you are aware of all available options for rebates and funding to make getting the care you need as affordable as possible.
Funding Types
-
Medicare's Chronic Disease Management (CDM), previously known as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC), provides rebates for eligible clients for up to 5 treatment sessions per calendar year. Only a GP can issue this plan.
To qualify, the medical condition must be chronic (present for at least 6 months or anticipated to last that long).
-
The Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Eligible Disability Services program is designed to fund allied health services for children with autism or other complex neurodevelopmental conditions.
Under this Medicare initiative, children can access up to 4 rebated sessions for assessment and up to 20 rebated sessions for treatment with allied health professionals such as Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and others. These sessions are available until the child turns 25 years old.
-
Your private health insurance might provide rebates for speech pathology services. The rebate amount can vary based on your insurance provider and your specific coverage. Contact your provider to check your eligibility for a rebate.
-
NDIS funding is available for children younger than 6 with developmental delay, children younger than 9 with disability and children over 9 with a permanent or significant condition impacting daily life. This government scheme provides varying amounts of funding tailored to each person's needs.
To apply for NDIS funding, you may require supporting evidence from healthcare professionals. Visit National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to begin the application process.
